I just returned from a Mastermind Retreat in Montreal, where I spent days with top-performing coaches and advisors from around the world. In these gatherings, we tackle one fundamental question: How can we more effectively show up for those we serve?
My takeaway was that in this Zoom-saturated, AI-accelerated world, too much of what passes for connection is transactional—efficient, but shallow. Entrepreneurs don’t need more transactions. They need transformation.
The Entrepreneur Journey
Every entrepreneur’s path follows a familiar arc.
The Doer. In the beginning, you do everything. You sell, you deliver, you review your cash flow at midnight. The business exists because of your energy, passion, and relentlessness. It’s the GSD (get shit done) mentality.
The Architect. As the company grows, you begin to design systems, hire teams, and create rhythms that allow the business to function without every decision crossing your desk. You become a builder of structure, not just output.
The Builder of Capacity. The real transformation comes when you learn to build capacity in others. When leadership becomes less about your personal brilliance and more about creating the conditions for others to lead, decide, and grow, this is the inflection point that determines whether a company bridges the liminal space between startup and scale.
Product/market fit, unit economics, go-to-market, capital—those are table stakes. What limits most companies isn’t the model or the math. It’s whether the entrepreneur is willing and able to make this final transformation.
How We Will Meet the Moment
That’s why we’ve chosen to evolve how we engage with entrepreneurs. Because the tools our world has given us—Zoom, AI, endless digital updates—are powerful, but they can’t give us the things transformation really requires. They don’t provide inspiration, encouragement, empathy, discernment, intimacy, or curiosity. And those are the essential spices in the recipe for transformation.
So here’s how we will meet the moment:
- Immersive retreats where entrepreneurs step away from the daily grind to reconnect with clarity, purpose, and peers who understand the same weight. Where isolation gives way to connection.
- Strategy intensives that force the pause—half a day devoted to alignment and direction. No firefighting, no noise, just leaders and teams finding clarity and alignment.
- Deep coaching conversations that move past updates and reporting. These sessions focus on breakthroughs, courageous choices, and the identity shifts leaders must make to achieve growth and success.
- Curated touchpoints—CEO dinners, reflective walks, micro-move challenges—that bring leadership back to a human scale. These are the small, intentional moments that remind us leadership isn’t mechanical, it’s relational.
- Energy and mindset support that helps entrepreneurs sustain resilience, manage focus, and reframe challenges so they can lead with clarity and confidence.
- Continuous care through voice memos, practical tools, and structured reflections that keep momentum alive between the bigger moments.
This is how we choose to engage, to be the potent analog complement in a digital world.
Transformation Over Transaction
We will help guide entrepreneurs and teams to execute with excellence. It is not that we don’t value execution—of course, we do. However, the key to consistently developing and implementing a strategy that unlocks the latent potential in a business lies in transformation. That transformation is the analog force multiplier —the essential ingredient that ensures scale is not just possible but also sustainable.
That’s the work. That’s the invitation. That’s why we’ll always choose transformation over transaction.
