“Sticking with it”
I spent this Labor Day weekend traveling to be with my parents as they celebrated their 50th anniversary. 50 years is a remarkable accomplishment. Certainly it has not always been easy. There have been struggles, downtimes and moments of doubts. There have been disagreements, such as tonight’s spirited debate on the best route to the restaurant. There have been countless compromises and a continued willingness to adjust. They remain committed to making it work, to sticking with it. Their reward for that perseverance has been a successful marriage of 50 years, a loving family and a great life.
In business you often face tough times and deep struggles. You are certain to have your doubts and your fair share of spirited debates. You will need to make sacrifices, compromises and must be willing to adjust. However, with a strong determination to make it work and an absolute commitment to stick with it, your reward will be a successful business, a loyal work family and the makings of a great life.
So I offer you this same lesson my parents gave to me, the value of sticking with it and of making a real commitment.
Thanks for reading.
